Lauren had a birthday party at our house for her and her friend Sara. There was about 10 little girls and two boys at the house for the party. The theme was strawberry short cake. We played pin the strawberry on her hat, Yes I made the poster. They played pop the strawberry (a balloon) and hot "strawberry pass". They also made hats to take home. I think the party turned out pretty good.

Ok so as usual we didn't take a lot of pictures at christmas. Here we are with Aunt Mary infront of the new camping kitchen my dad got us. Lauren loved her new desk we got her, but I think her favorite thing she got was a game called Guess Who and yes Aunt Mary played it with her all day on Christmas and she still plays it all the time. Audrey enjoyed her table and the new bottles for her baby dolls. yes, it was like the coldest day of the year and we went to see the lights and the ginger bread houses in Sunriver! Ouch it was -10 out when we were there.

we had family over for Thanksgiving at our house. Lots of good food. In this picture you can see the yummy rolls I made in the cupcake holder. The best I've ever made. Mark and Margy are also in the picture. can you say sweets! Uncle George made pumpkin cream puffs, I made the a pumpkin pie and an apple pie and Aunt Mindy made an apple pie as well. If that wasn't enough Grandpa Jim brought cupcakes.

yes, I we were happy about school starting! Although when Tuesday came, I had to walk out of Lauren's room really fast, because I felt the tears coming on. It's odd to have Lauren gone all day long.

High Desert Museum with Grandma Stockton and Aunt Mary - we made 2 trips to the museum this summer, this was the second trip. The first trip we went with daddy and he finally got to see the old saw mill going.

Crazy camping trip - we wanted to go on our last camping trip before school started with some friends but they were unable to make it, I guess they missed out! It was a crazy trip, our first night was so loud with bugs and the water was nasty, we packed up and drove, drove, drove to another place. We only made it to another lake after many failed attempts to go to other camp grounds. The girls had some fun for the most part.

We didn't make it to our county fair this year so we went to Crook county fair instead the following weekend. Audrey thought this was sooo much fun.

We spent the 4th of July at my mom's going on the slip and slide with cousins and having a BBQ. It was nice visit with family. My mom, step dad, Grandp Jim, Grandma Margy, Uncle John, Aunt Mindy, Rita, cousin Lilly, cousin Kannon, Uncle George, Uncle Rus, cousin Dillon all made it for the great BBQ. 1 1/2 hours of fireworks

Oops, thought I had put this up. March 21 was the Central Oregon Custom Hot Rod show. Jeff one 1st place in his class and also the grand prize for wildest import with $100 cash. It was fun to see all the cool cars and be a part of the car show. His next show is a VW show on May 30.

Lauren was very upset that we didn't have the big birthday party for her like we did the year before. Yes, I didn't get it together enough to have friends over. So instead Lauren was able to take two friends to a place called "Bouncing Off the Wall" it's an indoor bounce house place. I also took the girls out of lunch and ice cream. Lauren's birthday March 12, 2009- What a day she had. It started out with her awesome mom making her banana muffins for breakfast with a little bit of frosting, although she didn't like them. Then at school I brought her cupcakes to share with the class. That evening Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Young came over with a gift and to visit for awhile. Next Grandma and Grandpa Mark came over for dinner and cake. Lauren had her favorite salmon for dinner. Ok, so most of you might not know. My Aunt Mary and I took a fast trip to Bakersfield, to see my dad. He was suppose to have surgery and we wanted to be there, but as things happen. The surgery was moved back. So instead we spent the day at CALM (California living museum.

We had an 80's dance at church. Jeff was the DJ. Yep, didn't have to go far to find music for the dance. So he dressed up as the "Flock of Seagulls" You know the song "I ran". AND yes, the suit is from when he was in high school. Doesn't that just make you sick, that he can still wear it. I tired to have my hair as I had it in the 80's (but most of the time I just had it in a pony tail) and yes the shirt I have on, really is from high school in the 80's. My friend Marni, also had her high school shirt on. Sad but true, Marni and I got just about all the 80's trivia questions. Although, we didn't have many people show up, we still had fun!

January 1 was a wild day for Jeff, as the wind let out it's force on Bend. Jeff spent the entire day working on down power lines. This is one of the pictures he took of an area that was hit by the wind. It was reported that the wind gust got up to 65 mph and higher in some areas. Generally he doesn't have to go out on outages and can do most of it by the computer, but with 4,700 customers without power and being on call he had to go. It's been a mess since Dec. 31, Jeff's phone has been going off all night long since the then. Only 3 more nights of on call and then he can get some sleep.

Ok, crazy winter weather up here in Oregon. It started with very, very cold temps, so cold Lauren missed school because the bus wouldn't start. Then we had snow, snow, and snow till Christmas Eve. Now it's warmed up to a mess of mud with the temp. being 51 degree yesterday. Now we're back to a cold today with a little bit of snow. Now we have ice all over, so don't forget your ice skates if you come visit, hahah. Just before the snow melted away we made a snowman and a snowcat, we also went sleding again before it started raining. The snowman and snowcat have since melted.

After a busy morning of laundry and shoveling snow, we went with 2 other families sledding. It was a blast and fun to watch the kids. I took out poor Audrey on the first run down the hill. I took a bounce and went over the top of her and spread her face with snow. Poor thing, she didn't want to go on the sled again with me. Lauren had some good wipe outs but got back up and went again. We've got about a foot or so of snow and more they say is on the way for tomorrow. Looks like we will be having a white Christmas. I shoveled out to the green house, half of the loop of our driveway, to the front door, all of the back patio and deck by the spa and a pathway from the back of the house to the front. It's a good thing our snow is pretty light.

The snow came this weekend and today school has been cancelled not really because of the snow, but the cold. I guess they couldn't get the buses started this morning. I better get going, I'm babysitting 3 more children this morning.
Here we go again! Jeff is building the girls a tree house now. It's a little scary to me, but he says he'll make it safe for them. He's always wanted to build a tree house. My mom took out their deck, and gave us the wood.

apple time again, yes I've canned 5 20lb boxes of apples into 2 apple pies, one apple crisp, 24 quarts & 12 pints of apple sauce that could be used for pie filling as well. The girls did a good job helping. The floor got pretty sticky.

My friend Heidi just bought her first home and she sent me pictures of her before and after painting of her new home. I guess it encouraged me to repaint our kitchen and then I painted the cabinets. It's been a big, big job. I just got the cabinets finished last Saturday. I'll have to send my before and after pictures when I get it all finished.

Busy Bees

One Saturday a while back we took a trip to go see the local caves in our area. Most of the caves are lava tubes. Audrey did get a little scared in the second cave we went to. Jeff in and the girls in front of the 1st cave - ice cave - long time ago this is where Bend would go to get ice for the summer months. There's not much left to see of the cave now. Shawna and the girls in front of the second cave we went to, yes you have to climb down a ladder to get into the cave, this was a large lava tunnel - we didn't get to explore too much of it.

Crazy last minute trip - we took a trip to a VW car show in Washington one weekend. It was a ton of driving for just a weekend, but the girls were great! We had planned on camping but when we got there, all the camp sites were taken. The girls had fun swimming in a pool at the hotel, so that was ok.

We had an Olympic kick off day at our home. We had 27 little athletes come to compete in different events. Such as lifting buckets of water, shot put, sprinkler dance, long jump, sprints and a tug of war to name a few. It was a blast, so if you don't have the Olympic spirit it's time to jump into the game.

Look out here comes the class of 2021. Yes, that's right that's the year Lauren graduates from High School. We had her preschool graduation on June 12, 2008. She was a little under the weather that evening. Audrey was really sick and stayed home with Grandma. Lauren's ready for kindergarten now!

Disneyland

We made it to Disneyland on Tuesday June 3, 2008. On Sunday June 1, we were able to see the fireworks from our hotel, but we didn't go. The girls were really afraid of the fireworks and went back in the room with Grandma while the rest of us watched the fireworks. We went to Disneyland resort on Tuesday, Disney California on Wednesday and Disneyland resort again on Thursday. We were tired and ready for home after that. I had a cold, but just kept going, like Dory says, "Just keep swimming".

They loved seeing all the characters and the parades. Didn't care for the 3D shows, they scared them (too loud). The priceless moment was watching Lauren dance like she was in the parade all the way back to the hotel.

We arrived in Bakersfield about 3:00PM and had time to jump in the pool and cool off before going to dinner with all the grandparents. Audrey loved just hanging out in the water. On Monday June 2, 2008 we went to the beach with my friend Heidi and her family. Heidi and I went to high school together and she's the one who introduced me to the church. It's great that we both have two girls the same ages. Audrey enjoyed being in the sand and Lauren enjoyed the water and the sand.

Trike a Thon

The trike a thon went well, it was a good thing we did it last week and not today. Yes, it's snowing this morning (May 23) It was 85 the day of the trike a thon. It was warm for Lauren so she didn't do as many laps as last year. But she still rode for 57 laps which means she rode for 2.76 miles. Audrey had fun on the swings while Lauren was riding.

April 5, 2008 Lauren had a birthday party we went to. The girls got to play in the a gymnastics gym for 2 hours. They had a lot of fun jumping into the foam pits, hanging on the bars, and walking on the balance beams. Since it was snowing outside, it was nice to run around inside. I hope the nice weather returns soon.

We're in the melt down of the snow now. It's been a warm this week so the snow is melting fast. In no time at all we'll have spring here! Just a few updates: Jeff started school this week at Linfield College. He's working on getting his degree in Business, he figures it will take him at least years to finish. Right now he's taking finacial accounting, water rescources and introduction class. I think that will be enough to keep him busy. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

So we got another 10 inches of snow, I guess I'm not leaving till I get shovel out. The snow behind my car is from off the top of the house we thought we were getting a little too much so we shoveled it last night.
